XML Sitemap and red cross in Googles webmaster tools

Are you always getting a red cross against your sitemap.xml file, check if your wordpress in general settings is set to have the www. prefix in the domain name, if it is, make sure your Google webmaster too “add site” was set as www.domainname.com, not domainname.com. This will usually resolve most red cross errors with Google XML sitemap plugin in wordpress with Google webmaster tools.
